Education Advisors

The Ordway engages more than 50,000 children, educators and families through its Arts Education and Community Engagement programming each year by combining matinee performances of music, dance and theater from around the world with comprehensive study guides, master classes, in-school residencies, and community workshop opportunities. This unique program, sponsored by 3M, has a 19-year history and has been shaped through planning and conversation with teachers, community members, teaching artists, and arts education professionals.  In addition to staff, artists and consultants that work annually on the Ordway’s arts education programming, volunteer Education Advisors meet with Ordway staff throughout the year to participate in focus groups and plan special events and programs.  In the 2009-2010 season, the following individuals contributed in this way:
