Career Directions

For every artistic event that people attend, much of the work remains hidden. Arts administrators and operations staff work behind the scenes to support artists and connect their work with the public, creating multiple access points to arts experiences.  

Summer DanceThere are many types of performing arts jobs available to differing skill sets and interests. The Ordway’s interactive map will give you a sneak peek into these careers as well as a personalized sense of the Ordway staff, while also offering you a "behind-the-scenes look" at the theater itself.

Career Day

Career Directions doesn’t stop there! Ordway will host the first annual Career Day in October. Students will learn from professionals in the field and explore their own interests in the arts industry.

Janis Weller: Artist, Liberal Arts Chair, McNally Smith College of Music

David Lewis: Artist, Career Counselor, McNally Smith College of Music

Martin Gwinup: Artist, Technical Director, Educator, University of Minnesota

Shira Naharit: Artist, Human Resources Director, Ordway
