Please join the Ordway and our collaborating partner MShale - The African Community Newspaper, for an opportunity to meet Somi and help her kick off a week-long residency in the Twin Cities!
At this event, Somi will share music from her acclaimed album, The Lagos Music Salon, and select pieces from her upcoming album. A vocalist and songwriter of East African descent, her soulful music and unique perspective is sure to engage the mind and ears. This gathering will begin a week of community engagements with Somi, including in-school visits, discussions, and performances.
This FREE event is open to the public. Appetizers from Jambo Africa will be provided!
This engagement is part of Taking Our Place Center Stage, an initiative through which the Ordway and SoulTouch Productions, in collaboration with communities of color in the Twin Cities, commits to a continuing a partnership of creative programming, education, and entertainment that inspires us all.
