Kennedy Center Partners in Education
Ordway Center partners with both Minneapolis and Saint Paul Public Schools through the Kennedy Center’s Partners in Education program. This partnership is unique to this country because it links a major Performing Arts Center with two major urban districts. The program is a network of arts organizations and school districts for which Kennedy Center leverages resources to assist in the creation of professional development programs through the arts.
Through joint planning meetings with Ordway Center, Longfellow, MPS, and Wellstone Elementary, SPPS, create workshop connections and community building events that connect to performances at Ordway Center. Each year, the partnership seeks to engage more than 500 students in the school with a workshop and performance.
