JOB PURPOSE: The OCOS Gala Intern will assist the Ordway Circle of Stars Board and Manager with various projects including event planning assistance, clerical duties, data entry, and acting as a representative of Ordway Center at OCOS events.
MAJOR JOB RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Provide event support, planning and event prep work as well as attendance for the 2008 Ordway Circle of Stars gala – Irving Berlin’s White Christmas.
- Provide general clerical support for the 2008 OCOS gala, as well as attend all gala committee and full board meetings.
- Provide general clerical support including updating and maintaining the filing system, word processing correspondence and preparing mailings.
- Coordinate volunteers for the 2008 OCOS gala.
- Provide event support, planning and attendance for any connection events held by Ordway Circle of Stars during the months of hire.
- Assist in preparing the OCOS Spotlight e-newsletter and mailing lists.
- Perform other duties and responsibilities as required or assigned.
QUALIFICATIONS:
EDUCATION: High school diploma required. Currently enrolled in or recently completed a bachelor degree with a major or related course work in arts administration, theatre, business, fundraising or related field.
EXPERIENCE: Prior experience (paid or volunteer) in event planning or office administration; experience in a non-profit, education or cultural environment a plus.
SKILLS/KNOWLEDGE/ABILITY: Self-motivated, organized, attention to detail, strong people skills, poised, customer service, excellent phone manner and communication skills, ability to work well under pressure and meet deadlines. Computer aptitude required, with Microsoft Office experience preferred. Familiarity with AudienceView campaign software helpful. A flexible team-worker.
EQUIPMENT OPERATED: Computers, printers, telephone, calculator and other general office equipment.
