Sidiki Conde, Tokounou’s founder, lost the use of his legs when he was fourteen. This propelled him to follow his dream to be a dancer and musician. Through Tokounou’s song, dance and musical arrangements, Conde celebrates the traditional arts of his native Guinea and chronicles his unique journey
Public Performances:
Saturday, May 31, 10:00am & 12:00pm
Sunday, June 1, 2:30 & 4:30pm
The youngest audience members were invited on stage at each performance to play the zylophone and dance under the direction of company members. On Wednesday evening, Tokounou company members led twelve dancers from the Twin Cities community in a high-energy master class.
