Sidi Goma

Featuring four musicians and eight dancers, Sidi Goma presents the joyful and exuberant devotional music and dance of the traditional rituals of the Sidi African-Indians from Gujarat, India. Audiences will be enthralled by the intoxicating drum patterns, captivating dance and explosive energy as Sidi Goma musicians and dancers bring their unique African-Indian heritage to the stage.

Sidi Goma gave two master classes while in Saint Paul. The first was for dance students of the Saint Paul Conservatory for the Performing Arts. This class challenged the students, introducing them to a new form of global dance. The second master class was open to community dancers. All participants learned from the unique style of performance and benefited from the technique and positive energy of Sidi Goma.
