Children from across Minnesota were invited to submit original artwork for the 2008 Flint Hills International Children’s Festival ARTcontest. Artwork incorporated the artist’s interpretation of the theme, MY MINNESOTA: a creative state of mind. The theme was in celebration of the Minnesota sesquicentennial, 150 years of statehood. Young artists were encouraged to explore their own lives as Minnesotans. One entry per grade level was selected and featured on the 2008 Festival Poster.
