Free World Party!

The outdoor events are free for all Festival-goers and are programmed to run throughout each Family Weekend Day. See this year's outdoor artists »

  Events include:
Landmark Plaza, World Stage and TARGET Alley performances
Landmark Plaza is adjacent to the World Stage in Rice Park and Target Alley just in front of Ordway Center will be filled with the music and dance of Twin Cities artists representing the international diversity of people that call Minnesota home. 
Walk-Around Artists
Look for local artists walking throughout the Festival grounds creating magical moments.  Offering a personal connection to the sights and sounds of the Festival, these artists include mimes, balloon artists, musicians, and clowns.
Art Making Activity Tents with Community Arts Partners
Ordway Center creates partnerships with many companies and organizations throughout the state that culminate in many family friendly activities in the parks. Community Partners host art making projects such as mosaic masterpieces, paper bag hats, milk carton pull toys, and more! Learn More
International Cuisine
A variety of international food is available for purchase on the Festival grounds. The international flavors are a great compliment to the global experience and are offered at a family-friendly price.

Xcel Energy Butterfly Garden
Thanks to the Xcel Energy Foundation, a Festival favorite – the Butterfly Garden – is returning for the seventh year to the Festival.  The free Butterfly Garden can be found in Rice Park.

Sonic Playground
Just to the right of Ordway Center’s front doors, Phillip Blackburn, composer and musician, will work with two schools to create the Sonic Playground Installation, this year’s K-12 Public Art Installation, sponsored by Delta Dental.  Students will perform composed pieces on the sculptures and lead Festival-goers through this incredible outdoor installation of interactive public art. ARTwalk
Young people from all over the state are invited to submit their artwork to this open call, curated exhibition.  Starting May 1, artwork will be displayed throughout the windows and skyways of downtown Saint Paul. Learn More
