As a nonprofit organization, Ordway Center for the Performing Arts depends on the generous support of individuals, corporations, foundations, and government agencies. Ticket prices provide only part of the income needed to fulfill our extensive artistic and educational programming, including $3 tickets for school groups attending our Performing Arts Classrooms, our free Ordway Extras with local artists and experts before performances, and free art-making activities at the Flint Hills International Children’s Festival.
You can support the Ordway and its role in the community.
The Ordway is much more than a beautiful building. It is a major arts institution that produces, partners and educates. We mount our own productions from the ground up, engaging artists, designing sets and creating original staging and choreography. It’s all created right here, just for you.
In addition to being a home for our esteemed arts partners, Saint Paul Chamber Orchestra, The Minnesota Opera, and Schubert Club, the Ordway is also a prominent producer and presenter of world music, dance, drama and musical theater.
Producing our own musicals enriches the entire Ordway organization by involving our staff in the creative process and allowing us to engage with community partners for production, promotion and educational opportunities. Recent Ordway-produced musicals have included Love, Janis; Yankee Doodle; Singin’ in the Rain; Grey Gardens (co-produced with Park Square Theatre); and Walt Disney’s Beauty and the Beast. Each of our productions employs dozens of performers, directors, designers and technicians, and most are drawn from the Twin Cities’ abundant talent pool. The Ordway’s own productions are seamlessly integrated into a performing arts season embracing Broadway touring shows, world music and dance.
Originally conceived as an exquisite venue for performances, the Ordway has become much more than was originally envisioned. We are a recognized force in the creative community, a key collaborator, and a leader in education and community engagement.
