This year's Special Student Matinee, Night of the Living Dolls , is packed with the fanciful fun that Ballet of the Dolls fans have grown to love. Presented in Ordway Center 's McKnight Theatre, the production blends the aesthetic of ballet, jazz, mime, and theater in an original new work that tells the tale of mysterious doll-maker Herr Speilzeug and old widow Frau Hexe.
Two 90-minute performances, programmed exclusively for school audiences, will be presented on October 25 th and November 1st . Call Ordway Center 's Teacher hotline at 651-282-3115 to order tickets to this once-in-a-lifetime event!

| ARTwalk Poster Contest Call for Entries |

Ordway Circle of Stars is excited to sponsor the ARTwalk Poster Contest, part of the 2007 Flint Hills International Children's Festival. This year's theme is "My Art Speaks from the Heart." 14 images will be selected, one from a student in each grade, PreK-12. Winning artists are invited to a reception on May 18th, receive $50, and their artwork is printed on a poster distributed throughout the state. | Mosaic Bench Wins Ribbon at State Fair |

As part of the K-12 Public Art Project at Ordway Center, ‘Pieces of Peace' was created by Leigh Hansen's Montessori students at Crossroads Elementary under the guidance of Crossroads Art Specialist Marni Oberpriller and artists-in-residence Lori Greene & Maria Ricke of Mosaic on a Stick. The bench was featured in the 2006 Flint Hills International Children's Festival. Now, thousands of State Fair visitors can admire the students work, too-The Minnesota State Fair awarded the piece first place for the 5th grade visual art competition. Congratulations! |
