FUNDING AVAILABLE FOR SCHOOL FIELD TRIPS: TARGET FIELD TRIPS
The Target Field Trip Grants program will award grants to K-12 educators, teachers, principals, para-professionals, or classified staff to fund field trips for their students. LARRY YAZZIE-ORDWAY CENTER CULTURAL ADVISOR AND FESTIVAL ARTIST-NOMINATED FOR THE OMAR BONDERUD AWARD
Larry (Meskwaki/Dine) is an International Lecturer, Educator, Performer, and a World Champion Fancy Dancer. Raised on the Meskwaki Indian Settlement in Central Iowa, he began dancing at the age of seven.
Larry recently showcased his artistic skill during an eight-day Cultural Exchange, sponsored by the Bloomington Sister City Organization and the City of Bloomington. As a result of this work, and much other, The Bloomington Sister City Organization Board of Directors has nominated Larry for the Omar Bonderud Award. The award is presented by the Bloomington Human Rights Commission to an individual or organization that has made a significant contribution to ensuring the rights of people in Bloomington.
