GARTH FAGAN DANCER WILL TAKE ORDWAY CENTER BY STORM |
| |

|
Garth Fagan Dance, choreographed by Tony Award® winning choreographer Garth Fagan of Disney’s The Lion King, will take Ordway Center’s Main Hall Stage with their unique blend of dance forms including, modern, Afro-Caribbean, and jazz complemented by the speed and precision of ballet. Garth Fagan dancers seem to defy gravity, changing direction in mid-air, and performing seemingly impossible balances. Tickets for Garth Fagan Dance and all Education at Ordway Center Performing Arts Classrooms are $3 for students, teachers, and chaperones; bus subsidies are also available for select shows.

EMERGING LEADERS PROFESSIONAL DEVELOPMENT SERIES |
| |
 |
Education at Ordway Center is excited to present a series created especially for emerging leaders in K-12 education. Designed and facilitated by Steve Barberio, a leader in the nonprofit sector for more than twenty years, the series strengthens educational leadership by helping participants focus on alignment with their district or school’s organizational culture.
Utilizing elements of the Socratic model, Mr. Barberio will lead the group though experiential arts-based activities, small and large group discussions, and individual reflection techniques. The series also features many special guests from the Twin Cities, including the use of Qigong and Taiko drumming. Ordway Center’s production of Blues in The Night will serve as a platform for discussion and development for Mr. Barberio and the participants.

| JOIN THE BAND AND THE WAGON—ARTMOVES PARADE |
| |
 |
You and your group can be art in motion! Journey through the Festival grounds in the ARTmoves Parade with giant puppets, kites, flags, music, ARTbikes, or anything you can dream up!
Ordway Center is actively creating partnerships with after-school programs and community organizations to create residency activities for youth, which will culminate in the Festival parade. Through this program, youth will collaborate with an artist to dream up a concept and work as a team to create a unit of performance art.
Program costs and busing may be subsidized by Ordway Center.
The ARTmoves Parade is Saturday, May 31, 2008 at 1pm. Workshops can begin as early as March. Contact Eric Olmscheid with your ideas and find out how you and your group can be involved! eolmscheid@ordway.org or 651-282-3017.
