The pulse of Brazilian nightlife beats at Ordway Center when Rob Curto presents the sultry and exotic Forró For All. Forró, Brazil's favorite party music, emerged as a response to the challenges of life in the arid Northeastern climate. A potent blend of African and European musical traditions, forró has become wildly popular yet remains a decidedly unpretentious source of entertainment and expression. This rhythmic blend of accordion and traditional Brazilian instruments inspires its own passionate dance style and a fervent following across Brazil and beyond. Curto, who has studied with many of the world's greatest accordion players, has proved himself as one of the best contemporary forró musicians and is solely responsible for the forró craze currently taking the NYC music scene by storm.
